Insurance of foreign shipments and customs clearance
Shipments abroad are insured for up to CHF 150 or equivalent. If the shipment is lost, the ordered items cannot usually be replaced, in which case compensation is paid in CHF.
Please note that shipments abroad are subject to customs clearance in the country of arrival. These costs and associated fees are borne by the recipient. All shipments are subject to the respective customs of the importing country (fees and customs tax, with the exception of EFTA countries and countries with a customs free trade agreement with Switzerland). The EC does not have a customs free trade agreement with Switzerland. We will create an electronic export declaration (EAD) free of charge and this forms the basis for the customs clearance process in the destination country.
Shipping abroad shipments over 2kg or order value over CHF 1'000.-
Shipments abroad weighing more than 2kg to 20kg or with an order value of more than CHF 1'000.- or equivalent are subject to a more complex tariff structure that is not shown here. For processing these shipments, an additional CHF 25.- fee is charged on top of the tariff (between CHF 36.- and 337.-) for our expenses (documents: waybill for export and import). When ordering, a deposit is charged based on the base weight. The remaining shipping costs are invoiced after the order has been placed. Additional shipping insurance can be taken out upon request for an additional charge.
Electronic tracking of the shipment
Swiss Post provides electronic tracking of the whereabouts of shipments. If you wish, we will send you the electronic tracking number (tracking ID) of your Swiss Post shipment by email. We have been doing this for international shipments for some time now.
